But it wasn't likes still comes on, could my motor be lockedI have a 1998 crown Victoria , car makes a clicking sound when I try to start it, that it was the starter ,?
Check connections battery to starter, make sure battery is OK.. If these are OK, a faulty solenoid could be the problem. If you can give the solenoid a tap with a spanner, this sometimes make it work but it will probably fail again.I have a 1998 crown Victoria , car makes a clicking sound when I try to start it, that it was the starter ,?
The clicking sound is the throw-out bearing trying to engage the flywheel.
the click / no start occurs when battery voltage (arriving at the starter) is under about 10 volts.
charge the battery, check the alternator to make sure it's charging.I have a 1998 crown Victoria , car makes a clicking sound when I try to start it, that it was the starter ,?
you have a dead battery or bad battery cable connections. Get someone to jump start your car and see if that works to get it running. Then find out what is wrongwith it. not likely it is a bad starter.
Take off the battery cables from the battery and clean the ends and posts with a battery brush, only $3 at a parts store..
